It was amazing! I was told that it was gonna be a show like the TV series "Taken" and that humans are going to be abducted by aliens and such... Hence when the show started, I was intently look at Liam Nesson and wondering what's going to happen next to him and how it will associate with the alien-abduction plot. In fact, it has nothing to do with alient at all and I was getting slightly bored when he was buying the karaoke set for her daugther... I was anticipating the drama-melody kinda of sad and dry movie: He was standing there at her daugther's 17th birthday and his daughter got all excited when her step-father got her a pony and she dropped the karaoke set given by Liam and ran after the pony for a ride... Oh yes, Jean Grey was featured and her eyebrows were too long!!!
But to my surprise, the story came to a solid twist when he was deployed as a body guard for a popular singer by the name of "Sheerah". After her performance, while being escorted from back stage to the exit, hell broke loose and fans started running through the door. Secruity guards and her own escort group (including Liam) had to block the fans out. Liam and Sheerah was walking towards the exit when a man with knife tried to attack her but was easily blocked off by Liam.
It turned out that Liam's prior to retiree job was working for the government's secret service of sort, protecting important figures. His love for her daughter had brough him closee to her to watch over and protect her.
The story went on with his daughter and her friend going to Europe on the pretext of visiting musems but was actually trailing U2's Europe tour path. Once landed in the airport, they were hitched by this cute French guy and he suggested sharing cab. Situation arises when in fact the guy was a bait to check out their staying location. It turned out that this guy was working for a prositute sydnicate, abducting travel, young women, feed them with drugs and force them into prostitution.
The story drills further into the underground dark side of Paris, filled with silent bribery and sexual trade in place. All the way from the entry level prostitution (workers' mass market level) to the highest of all kind where premium biddings take place for the most "pure" women of the stock pile.
It was indeed gruesome when Liam guides you through the maze of sleazy places, rooms where women are stacked in sleazy beds, some in handcuffs, legs eagle spread (seems like after rounds of being "screwed") either the guys that held them captive or by the paying customers.
The actions were amazing by the way Liam used "situational" reactions to drill through the stcky maze of the syndicate. From close combat to tactical fights, to interrogation method (both deceptive and physical), to gun shoots, Liam has showed the tougher and more analytical side of him. This was much better that the one he starred in Star Wars, much better!
After the show, I regreted not completing my commando training when I was younger but begin to appreciate the tranquility of life Singapore offers. While Europe and other part of the developed worlds offer modernisation, it is sometimes compromised with the strong underground syndicates that weaved beneath. When my family was discussing about the show, we all agreed that such things will never happen in Singapore. Very comforting to know as I have 2 daughters... And one thing is for sure, they will NEVER EVER have the chance of traveling alone or with girls unless there are guys or fathers around...
